Here is a notification from Teaching Affairs Office, concerning transfer or suspension of class. Please read it thoroughly, and save the attachment(Application Form for Class Transfer/Suspension) for further use.
1.Once class schedule has been confirmed, teacher is not allowed to reschedule class arbitrarily;
2.It is identified as a teaching accident if a class is cancelled/rescheduled without seeking for approval;
3.The absent teacher could ask another teacher who has the same or equivalent qualification to take over his/her class. But contact CLE first in order to get approval, then it’s the responsibility of the teacher to negociate with the other teacher. It is not allowed that the absent teacher only contact the replacement on their own.
4.Any teacher who wants to reschedule class shall ask for approval at least one week in advance. The procedure is:
1)fill in the application form, state clearly the reason of cancelling/rescheduling a class, as well as detailed follow-up arrangements; for rescheduling class, you need to negociate with your students to find out a time for make-up class, and fill in the details of make-up class in the application form;
2)seek for approval from department head;
3)send the form to secretary who will hand over the form to Teaching Affairs Office for further review;
4)the application is considered successful only when it has been approved by Teaching Affairs Office;
5)after getting the approval, teacher should timely inform his/her students concerning any change of class.
5.In case of emergency, when the teacher is unable to ask for approval one week in advance, the teacher should inform his/her students about the situation before the class. The teacher is required to make up the application within one week after the reshceduled/cancelled class.
6.The total hours of class rescheduling cannot exceeds 6 hours in each semester.
7. For teacher who needs to go abroad but still has teaching task, he/she is required to do a prior application at least 1 month before departure.
